Lok Sabha Election: Lok Sabha elections has reached its final phase. Along with all the parties, some independent candidates are also trying their luck in these general elections. One such candidate is from Chandigarh Lok Sabha. This fifth pass candidate is contesting the elections for the first time. For years, Vinod, a tea seller, has been fed up with the poor condition of the area and has been raising his flag against the rich.
Vinod Kumar, 50, has been running a tea stall in the market of Sector-24, Chandigarh for 20 years. In his initial days, he also drove a rickshaw in Chandigarh. He has stated in his affidavit that he does not own any property. He has decided to try his luck against big parties like BJP and Congress.
He has been running a tea stall for 20 years
According to the report of News 18, Vinod Kumar is promoting himself while beating the drum and making tea. Vinod is aware of almost every street and every road of Chandigarh. According to the report, Vinod initially drove a rickshaw in Chandigarh for 5 years. Later, on people’s request, he started setting up a tea stall in Sector-24 20 years ago.
People encouraged Vinod Kumar to contest the elections. Vinod says that after listening to the hearts of the people, he decided to try his luck in the Lok Sabha elections as a candidate this time.
Campaigning starts from 5 o’clock, tea stalls are set up from 9 o’clock
Vinod starts campaigning in different colonies and markets from 5 am in the morning and then sets up his tea stall from 9 am. He says that by contesting the elections he has sounded the bugle against the rich. Leaders make a lot of promises in elections but no one solves the problems of the people, that is why they have decided to contest the elections themselves.
The torch symbol is the election symbol
Vinod appeals to all the people who come to his tea shop to drink tea with folded hands and vote for him. Vinod Kumar has torch as his election symbol. He has also put up flags with torch marks outside his shop.
Chandigarh is included in the hot seats of Lok Sabha
Sanjay Tandon of BJP is contesting from NDA and Manish Tiwari of Congress is contesting from Indi Alliance from Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat. This Lok Sabha constituency is one of the hot seats of the Lok Sabha. Voting on these seats is to be held in the seventh and last phase on June 1. The results of the elections will be declared on June 4.
