The Food Safety Department has taken major action against adulterated spices in the capital Jaipur and recovered more than 19 thousand kg of spices. These spices were being adulterated in a factory. The Food Safety Department team that went to inspect the spice factory was stunned to see adulterated colors and stalks along with the spices.
These spices are supplied to Jaipur and surrounding areas. The department team has seasoned these spices. Their samples have been taken. These samples will be tested in the lab.
A campaign against adulteration has been going on in Rajasthan for a long time. In this series, this big action was taken in Jaipur on Monday. A team led by the department’s Additional Commissioner Pankaj Ojha reached the spice factory located in Vishwakarma Industrial Area of Jaipur. There the team found more than 19 thousand kg of spices. They were being adulterated. Seeing the condition of the spot, the departmental officers were also stunned.
The stalks were also being ground along with chilli and coriander.
Additional Commissioner said that the team of Food Safety Commissionerate inspected the spice factory Varsha Enterprises located on Road No. 9 in Vishwakarma Industrial Area. During inspection, many irregularities were found in the preparation of masala. He said that chilli and coriander stalks were also being ground along with light quality chillies in the factory.
Adulteration of color was found in turmeric and chilli. The team also got the color to be mixed in the spices on the spot. Samples of spices have been taken. Action has been taken to seize the spices. The campaign against adulteration will continue.

According to doctors, color should not be used in spices. These are very dangerous for health. Continuous consumption of adulterated spices has an adverse effect on the digestive process. Along with stomach ulcer, weakness also comes. Many types of diseases including high blood pressure and skin diseases can occur. It is noteworthy that this campaign against adulteration has been going on for a long time in Rajasthan. Under this campaign, the department has many times recovered large quantities of adulterated cheese, mawa and other food items and is destroying them on the spot.
