The Indian cricket team arrived in Florida on Saturday, June 15, ahead of their final Group A match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Canada at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium turf. The Men in Blue have qualified for the Super 8 stage of the tournament by winning three consecutive matches against Ireland, Pakistan and USA in New York.
After playing their final match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, India will travel to Florida before traveling to the West Indies for the Super 8 stage. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) shared highlights from their trip from New York to Florida as all the players looked fresh after a day’s break.
In a video shared by the BCCI on its X handle, left-arm pacer Khalil Ahmed expressed his excitement about visiting Florida after a gap of five years and recalled India’s tour of the West Indies in 2019. The video further saw Mohammad Siraj and Yujendra Chahal having a fun conversation about the Indian snack ‘Samosa’.
Meanwhile, India top Group A with three wins from three matches and a net run rate of +1.137. The Rohit Sharma-led side will look to continue their winning streak against Canada before advancing to the Super 8s. Apart from India, USA are the other favorites to advance from Group A having won two of their three matches so far. They face Ireland in Florida on Friday 14 June in their final group game.
