The benchmark equity indices opened Monday’s trading session in the positive territory. The NSE Nifty 50 opens up by 189.90 points or 0.86% at 22,336.90, while the BSE Sensex jumps 578.18 points or 0.79% to 73,666.51 in the opening trade. The broader indices opened in positive territory. Bank Nifty index opens higher by 571.55 points or 1.20% to settle at 48,145.70.
This week is expected to be important for financial markets as concerns about a potential Iran-Israel conflict persist. Market analysts warn that if tensions escalate significantly, there is a risk of panic selling and heightened volatility in global stock markets.

Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(up 5.00%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 5.00%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 4.80%), PTC India Ltd.(up 4.69%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd.(up 4.62%), GE Power India Ltd.(up 4.39%), KEC International Ltd.(up 3.18%) and Energy Development Company Ltd.(up 2.55%) were among the top gainers.
Neueon Towers Ltd.(down 4.88%), NTPC Ltd.(down 1.49%), Reliance Power Ltd.(down 0.90%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(down 0.61%) and Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(down 0.25%) were among the top losers.
Between India’s top two information technology (IT) services companies, Tata Consultancy Services seems to have beaten its counterpart Infosys on most metrics in the last quarter of the financial year 2023-24.
Although TCS is much bigger than Infosys in size, it has still outperformed its Bengaluru-based next-best rival hands down.
