Good news, future Chartered Accountants! The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially rolled out the examination dates for the CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final courses, specifically for your September 2025 attempt. This big announcement came via an official circular published just yesterday, May 30, 2025.
So, when exactly do you need to be ready? Here’s the breakdown, straight from ICAI:
Final Course Exams
Group I: September 3rd, 6th, and 8th, 2025
Group II: September 10th, 12th, and 14th, 2025
Intermediate Course Exams
Group I: September 4th, 7th, and 9th, 2025
Group II: September 11th, 13th, and 15th, 2025
Foundation Course Exams
September 16th, 18th, 20th, and 22nd, 2025
One quick note: you’ll notice there’s no exam scheduled for September 5th, 2025 (that’s a Friday). That’s because of Milad un Nabi, a central government holiday. And here’s a crucial clarification from ICAI: don’t expect any shifts in this schedule, even if another public holiday pops up, whether it’s from the Central Government, a State Government, or any local authority. The dates are locked in.
Speaking of timings, most of your papers will run for three hours, from 2 PM to 5 PM IST. The big exception is Paper 6 of the Final exam – that one gets an extra hour, going until 6 PM IST. For Foundation students, Papers 3 and 4 are a bit shorter, each lasting two hours (2 PM to 4 PM IST). One handy detail: ICAI is giving everyone a 15-minute “advance reading time” from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM. Just remember, this doesn’t apply to Foundation Papers 3 and 4, or any MCQ-based sections.
Want all the nitty-gritty details? You can find the full, detailed exam schedule right on the official ICAI website. Now that you’ve got the dates, it’s time to really hit those books and get prepared!
